Garden Jubilee, one of the largest gardening shows in Western North Carolina, will be held on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Memorial Day weekend. With over nearly 200 plant and craft vendors lining Main Street, the Historic downtown will be transformed into a garden wonderland.

Speaker Showcase Bios
Bill Quade
Bill Quade is the Director of Horticulture with the Biltmore Company in Asheville NC. Before this, Bill served in various positions within the Horticulture Department, which he began in 1998. Bill’s strong leadership ability, positive personality, and understanding of Biltmore’s core values were instrumental in the opening of The Inn on Biltmore Estate, Antler Hill Village, The Village Hotel on Biltmore Estate, and most recently Amherst at Deerpark. Bill enjoys the challenge of maintaining the estate's historical design intent while implementing the needs of the 21st century.
Bryce Lane
After earning his BS in Plant Science at the University of Massachusetts and MS in Ornamental Horticulture at The Ohio State University, he came to the Department of Horticultural Science at NC State University as a Lecturer in 1981. He spent 34 years teaching and advising over 25,000 students. He is the recipient of numerous local, regional, and national teaching awards.
From 2003- 2014 Bryce hosted and produced a three-time, Emmy winning, UNC TV public television show called “In the Garden With Bryce Lane”.
He now spends his time giving horticulture talks, doing leadership, and communication training, teaching part-time at NC State, and at the JC Raulston Arboretum. You will also find Bryce on his YouTube channel: Power of Plants With Bryce Lane.
The Shady Ladies
Meet the famous Shady Ladies of Raymond's Garden Center, Kay Campbell and Brenda Rosbrook, who come with almost 60 years of combined gardening experience.
Kay spent much of her youth gardening with her family and working in flower shops and garden centers. She earned a B.S. in ornamental horticulture from Clemson University. For 30 years, she has cultivated a diverse career and worked for many aspects of the industry, in design and implementation, maintenance, outdoor education, farming, retail and as a horticultural therapist.
Brenda took a keen interest in planting and landscape design, and after working for Barry Cosgrove landscaping, owning her own business, and becoming the self-taught professional she is today, Brenda joined Raymond’s Garden Center where she has worked in multiple roles and is now the Garden Center Manager & Grower.

Michelle Tennant
Michelle Tennant, President of the Henderson County Beekeepers Association, is a passionate protector of pollinators and the proud host of Henderson County's "Bee School" every January and February for those who are honey-beekeeping curious. You can find local honey to sweeten your tea and local mentors to teach you how to build an apiary to pollinate your gardens and orchards all through Michelle.
Kim Bailey
An avid wildlife habitat gardener and environmental educator for over 25 years, Kim Bailey has a true passion for pollinators. She first visited the monarch overwintering sanctuaries in Mexico in 2002 and has since co-led numerous trips to the monarch biosphere region. In 2014, she moved to family land in Fruitland, NC and founded Milkweed Meadows Farm. Generations ago, the property was a working dairy farm. Today, instead of producing milk, the farm grows milkweed as well as native wildflower seeds, open-pollinated heirloom vegetable seeds, pollinator-friendly potted plants, cut flowers, and specialty native fruits such as pawpaws and passionfruits
